- This is not actually a whip making book, but does contain a lot of information on braiding and plaiting that is aplicable to whip making. Just over 500 pages, this is truly an encyclopedia of techniques.
- How to Make Whips - Ron Edwards

- One of the original definitive books on the subject. It is geared primarily towards making stock whips out of kangaroo hide, but the information on plaiting and whipmaking in general make it an excellent book.
