Finding books on whips and whip cracking can be hard. Here's a list of some.

Let's Get Cracking (Second Edition) - Dante & Rosat: ISBN 9781537458021 This book is available directly from the author; An excellent book for first time crackers, but also includes some great information on performing as well.

Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding - Bruce Grant: ISBN 9780870331619 This book is readily available; This is not actually a whip making book, but does contain a lot of information on braiding and plaiting that is aplicable to whip making. Just over 500 pages, this is truly an encyclopedia of techniques.

How to Make Whips - Ron Edwards: ISBN 978-0-87003-513-6 [This book is readily available; One of the original definitive books on the subject. It is geared primarily towards making stock whips out of kangaroo hide, but the information on plaiting and whipmaking in general make it an excellent book.
